AS3X and SAFE are the reason most people buy Spektrum for planes. AS3X quietly damps out wind and makes a small model fly like a bigger one. SAFE adds bank-angle limits and a panic-recovery button — it's the single biggest reason a first plane survives its first day.

Where to start: DXS is a genuine entry radio. DX6e is the long-standing sensible middle. NX7e+ and NX8+ are for people who fly a lot of models and want the memory and telemetry.

Receivers: AR410 is the simple sport option; AR630/631+ add AS3X+ and SAFE; AR8360T and AR10360T add telemetry and more channels for bigger aircraft.
