Step 1: Get the truck

Start with the new Tamiya Clod Buster 2026 kit — only 3 in stock.

Step 2: Radio gear

This kit needs 1 steering servo plus a 2-channel radio and receiver -- throttle runs through the ESC that's already included in the box, so no second servo is needed. We recommend the M-Style Radioset ($65.69) -- radio, servo, battery and charger in one box, ready to run.

Step 3: Upgrade the steering

Stock steering knuckles are a known weak point. Swap in Hot Racing's aluminum graphite HD knuckles for tighter, more durable steering.

Step 4: Protect your drivetrain

Add Hot Racing's bearing-supported drive shaft tubes — the stock bushings are the #1 thing that breaks under hard bashing. One set per axle.

Step 5: Grab a spare body

Pick up an extra unpainted Tamiya body shell — perfect for a second paint scheme, or a spare when the stock one takes a hit.
