Premium RC Picks — 5 High-Performance Rigs That Deliver Serious Fun
Looking for something that goes beyond the basics? These five products sit right in the sweet spot of serious performance meets incredible value. From brushless monster trucks to a 2-meter glider and a legendary buggy kit, these picks are built to impress. Let's dive in.
1. E-flite Conscendo 2.0m BNF Basic with AS3X+ and SAFE Select — $399.99
SKU: EFL32250 | Brand: E-flite | Wingspan: 2.0 meters
The Conscendo is a massive 2-meter powered glider that absolutely dominates the sky. Whether you're riding thermals on a calm afternoon or punching through the wind with its brushless motor, this plane delivers an experience that's pure magic. AS3X+ stabilization keeps it locked in, and SAFE Select gives you confidence to push your flying skills further. With a 2-meter wingspan, this thing looks incredible soaring overhead.
The night before a beach day, we charge up the speaker, charge up all the RC car batteries, the plane batteries — and if we're really prepared, we'll get everything lined up by the back door and make a whole day out of it. Flying a big wingspan plane like this at the beach when the sun is going down? That's one of those things that makes you remember why you got into this hobby in the first place.

The DSC (Dynamic Steering Control) makes it surprisingly precise for something this aggressive. "I got my wife a four-wheel drive monster truck — I think it was the ARRMA Big Rock — and we started bringing RC cars to the beach together every weekend. It was awesome." — Matt, RC Hobby Pros
The Big Rock is also one of the best cars to get someone else hooked on the hobby. It's fun right out of the gate, tough enough to handle a new driver, and it just puts a smile on people's faces. We've seen it happen over and over in the shop.

This is a builder's kit, which means you get the full experience of assembling it yourself — and every bolt you tighten connects you to one of the most iconic RC platforms ever made. Whether you're a collector, a racer, or someone who appreciates craftsmanship, this kit is something special.

4. ARRMA 1/10 GRANITE 223S DSC 4X4 RTR Brushless Monster Truck, Blue — $339.99
SKU: ARA4302V4T1 | Brand: ARRMA | Scale: 1/10
The GRANITE 223S is one of the most popular monster trucks in the RC world — and the brushless version takes everything up a notch. More speed, more torque, more fun. The 4X4 drivetrain and tough ARRMA construction mean you can bash this thing all day long and it keeps coming back for more. DSC steering gives you the control to keep it on the edge without going over. This is the truck that turns beginners into addicts.
One of the cool things about being in the hobby shop — you get to see grandma come in with the kid after Christmas, birthday money in hand, to get some new batteries for a car like this. Then a few months later, you see grandma out there driving RC cars with the grandson. That is awesome, man. That's what this hobby is all about.
